The ski tracks in Pamporovo have various degree of difficulty, ranging from green – suitable for beginner skiers, to black ones – a real challenge for professionals. Their overall length is 37 km. The resort is especially suitable forcross country skiing. The overall length of the cross-country routes is 25 km., crossing charming areas of Pamporovo to Mougla village, and the other way round.
Most numerous are the tracks for beginner skiers – green and blue. About 90% of the tracks have been equipped with artificial snow system, which ensures constant snow cover throughout the whole winter season, regardless of the relatively low altitude. The number of the functioning snow cannons within the ski zone amounts to 80. This number is to be gradually increased every year.
Since 2010 Pamporovo Resort offers night skiing on the wall 2 track from 17:30 to 22:00.
The winter holiday resort Pamporovo offers very good conditions for practicing snowboard. In 2004, the first half-pipe ski track in Bulgaria was built in this resort, which is now a real attraction for extreme snowboard skaters and for those, who like amusement and tricks.
Pamporovo is a modern ski resort in the heart of the Rhodopi mountain, the mountain of the mythical singer Orpheus. It is the most southern skiing resort in Europe. It is the sunniest Bulgarian mountain resort with wonderful snow throughout the whole season. Pamporovo is situated on 1650 m above the sea level at the foot of peak Snejanka (1926 m). It is 240 km far from Sofia and 85 km from Plovdiv.
Significant is the connection with Greece, there is extension road Plovdiv-Chepelare-Rudozem. The road will be finished soon and practically , Greece will be reached in one hour by car.
Pamporovo has an exclusive climate featuring a soft winter with about 120 sunny days during the skiing period and 270 sunny days during the whole year. The significant influence of The Aegean Sea appears here and the skiing season starts from mid - December to mid - April.
There are many different opportunities for tourism in Winter as well as in Summer. Pamporovo is a preferable destination for investing. Sunny days in a year are more than 240. The climate is mild with strong Mediterranean influence. The average annual temperature is 8.5 C and the thickness of the snow cover is 140-150 cm. The altitude of the resort is 1650m, the highest peak in the region is Snezhanka 1926m. Average Summer temperature is 18C, so the mountain is the perfect place to escape the Summer heat. Summer is quiet, windless, calm and pleasantly warm. Here you can walk the centuries- old spruce forests. Sudden changes in weather and avalanches are not typical for Pamporovo, so you can enjoy peaceful and safety holiday.
